Check the address associated with the actual parcel, especially after moving or adding a new saved address. Editing an address book should not be treated as proof that an existing shipment has changed destination.
A Reddit report about an incorrect address is a reminder to establish both the problem and the available correction process. We have not verified that case or the amount mentioned in it.
Check the parcel’s destination before dispatch
Compare the information shown for the selected parcel with the address you intend to use. Review the recipient name, street and building details, unit information, locality, postal code and country. Confirm any contact fields required by the particular service.
Do not remove an address component simply because an input form looks crowded. If the form’s accepted format is unclear, ask how the complete destination will appear on the shipping record. Keep the confirmed record privately; do not publish the address to ask a general question.
Classify the requested change

UPS distinguishes address corrections from other delivery-change options. Its page notes that some options are restricted by shipment status, sender restrictions or security requirements, and that unavailable correction options can require contacting the sender. Those are UPS-specific conditions, not a universal agent feature.
Send one parcel-specific request
Example message:
Parcel [ID], tracking [number], currently shows destination [existing record]. The required correction is [specific fields]. Please confirm whether the shipment can still be corrected, which party must request it, any applicable charge and how I can verify that the change was accepted.
Send the full address only through the verified private channel. A reply acknowledging the message is not the same as confirmation that the shipping record was updated.
Confirm the outcome
Keep the request reference and the accepted destination or carrier confirmation when available. Do not assume that a delivery instruction, such as a gate code, changes the destination address.
If a change cannot be made, ask which options remain for that shipment and avoid issuing contradictory instructions through multiple channels. If the parcel is already awaiting collection, follow the separate missed-delivery and pickup checklist instead of assuming another home-delivery attempt is automatic.
